Businesses and Government entities are busy and have many tentacles that reach into them that dilute the cash flow and/or profits.

• Businesses fight to secure enough gross profit to reinvest and expand. Unfortunately businesses rarely have a good idea of what some things are really costing them. Without increased gross profits, these businesses cannot hire or adequately update equipment and technologies. This has to be overcome by intentional audits and better contract negotiations with vendors and providers.

• Government Entities have another issue, the money they are to steward is not theirs but is the taxpayers money. Many vendors and providers take advantage of these entities by slowly raising rates and/or cutting services without cutting their invoices. In other words, most government entities are stretched to the limit and cannot police every cost they are responsible for paying.

As business owners we know all to well that pennies add up if they are being drained out of bank accounts through account payables. Too many times vendors, utilities, and service providers offer businesses a low rate to switch providers only to slowly creep the rates up over time causing a cycle that should not occur. 

Municipalities find themselves in the same situation. But their overpayments are put on the backs of taxpayers. Vendors, utility companies, and service providers look at this as easy picking and feel no shame because most of the time they're not paying the taxes to these municipalities or don't understand they're stealing from their fellow citizens and themselves.
